NASA Investigates the San Bartolo Mayan Ruins

These images show the Peten region of Guatemala, where NASA has used remote sensing data to locate remains of the ancient Maya Civilization. The top image was from a helicopter Dec. 11, just above the site and illustrates how dense the foliage is. The center image was created by NASA using satellite data, used to help locate the sites.
