Review of ‘The Canadian UFO Report’

The Canadian UFO Report, The Best Cases Revealed, by Chris Rutkowski and Geoff DittmanOne of the books that I’ve been meaning to read for awhile was ‘The Canadian UFO Report, The Best Cases Revealed’, by Chris Rutkowski and Geoff Dittman. I say, ‘was’ because, I’ve finally read it.

I’ll state right off the bat that I’m happy that this one is in my collection. There are a couple of reasons why. Firstly, it deals with Canadian UFO sightings and reports and as I’m a Canadian, I’m naturally interested in reading about those types of sightings. Secondly, I thought that the book was well written and researched.

‘The Canadian UFO Report’ starts off in 1662 and proceeds right up until 2004. (This book was published in 2006, by the way.) Some of these cases are very well known, others not so much to the ‘average’ public. UFO buffs in Canada at least will probably know about most of them. I even found out about cases in my local area that I hadn’t even heard of or at least had heard of just in passing.

One of the cases that really caught my interest was ‘The Falcon Lake Incident’ or ‘Stefan Michalak case’. It was interesting to read Chris Rutkowski’s re-telling and take on this particular case because I had just recently read Palmiro Campagna’s ‘The UFO Files’, The Canadian Connection Exposed’ which also featured an account of the same incident. After reading this version, I’m still not totally sure what to make of this report but it gave me new insight into the events and the people involved. Definitely, one of those cases that makes one wonder.

‘The Canadian UFO Report’ presents both the definite possible / quite probable UFO sightings and the definite hoaxes, along with notes on possibilities and notes on government investigation and cover-ups.

Overall, I thought that ‘The Canadian UFO Report’ was a balanced and objective overview of the history of Canadian UFO sightings and activities and I found it to be both an informative and a rather enjoyable read.
