Zahi Hawass’ Bogus Copyright Claim on The Pyramids
For those of you who don’t know, Zahi Hawass is among other things, head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities. If you’ve ever watched a documentary about Egypt, you’ve probably seen him. He’s both the front showman and the guy who decides what happens in Egypt when it comes to all things related to antiquities.
Personally, I’ve always thought he’s incorrect when it comes to things like the origins of the pyramids and The Sphinx. As in, he’s hiding things and he refuses to entertain alternative research and history… And I’ve never been too partial to him; not that I know the guy; but he rubs me the wrong way.
That’s OK. However, there have been times when I have applauded his zest and way of doing things.
But this latest news is just insane! Egypt to copyright pyramids.
Hawass is quoted as saying, “The new law will completely prohibit the duplication of historic Egyptian monuments which the Supreme Council of Antiquities considers 100-percent copies.” This new law would be applied worldwide.
What a load of crock!
