Just How Does One Read A Crystal Ball?

Recently, I was watching one of the Harry Potter movies for the gazillionth time and there’s this scene with Professor Trelawny, and I’m wondering to myself, “Just how does one read a crystal ball anyway?”
So, I finally got around to reading up a bit about this subject — on the internet of course.
My first stop was at the Paranormal and Psychic Investigations site run by the Niagara Area Paranormal Society, (NAPS) where I found a page on Crystal Ball Scrying.
I then found this interesting page on Crystallomancy.
This page on Crystal Ball Scrying was interesting too.
And lastly, I rounded out my little research project, reading the History and Magic of the Crystal Ball.
