On this day in strange history: Aleister Crowley, “The wickedest man in the world”, died at the age of 72 of severe bronchitis, a broke and drunken drug abuser in a boarding house in Hastings, East Sussex, England. A shadow of his former grand self and a far cry from the master occultist who terrified the press and populace.
